Congratulations to Mr. James Hajime Kinoshita for being the first awardee of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects Gold Medal 2020, a well-deserved honour to recognise his lifelong contribution to the industry and outstanding architectural achievements.
Mr. Kinoshita was a partner of Palmer and Turner and a director of P&T Group. He also served as the HKIA President in 1987-1988 before his retirement from P&T in 1988.
During his 28 years of service and leadership in P&T, Mr. Kinoshita designed numerous award-winning landmarks in Hong Kong, like the Jardine House (formerly known as the Connaught Centre), Sui Wo Court, The American International Assurance (AIA) Building, The Landmark and other famous architecture like the Hilton Hotel and the HK Electric Headquarter.
