In 1924 and 1925, the British Empire Exhibition was held in London, where the "Hong Kong Pavilion” in the exhibition was designed by Herbert William Bird, a former partner of Palmer & Turner. The pavilion he designed has a strong Chinese architectural characteristic in its façade. Behind the façade lay a large courtyard that contained numerous exhibition stalls in the form of Chinese shops.
The recently held "Exhibiting Hong Kong in London" multimedia retrospective exhibition reappear the “Hong Kong Pavilion” area through three-dimensional models, multimedia projections and more.
