Revitalizing Macau: The Citizen Sports Park

Oct 2024

On the historic site of the former Macau Yat Yuen Canidrome, a new era of fitness and community engagement is taking shape in the northwest of the Macau Peninsula. Adjacent to bustling residential areas, this transformation will breathe new life into the Lin Fong Sports Centre, which has long served as a cornerstone for major events in the northern district.

Design Concept – "City • Mountain: Coexistence" Inspired by the layered mountains surrounding the site, the design forms a striking landscape of stacked volumes, with varying heights that mimic peaks and ridges. These levels create green platforms, giving the park a multi-dimensional, dynamic appearance that brings nature into the urban heart of Macau.

Functionality at its Core The Citizen Sports Park will feature four key buildings: an indoor swimming pool, a multi-sports court, a multi-functional hall, and a dedicated children's area, all connected by a shared basement-level public parking lot. Set for completion by 2029, this project promises to be a hub of activity for future generations.
