Pioneering Sustainable Construction: Rivervale Community Club (RVCC)
Located in Sengkang East, Singapore, Rivervale Community Club is a trailblazer as the first public building in Singapore constructed entirely using Mass Engineered Timber (MET). This innovative Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) technology allowed precise offsite prefabrication of MET columns, beams, and slabs, drastically reducing on-site manpower and construction time.
MET construction comes with unique challenges, including fire safety, humidity, and termite protection. RVCC overcame these with advanced fire engineering designs, protective aluminium and glass cladding, and a hybrid structural system combining reinforced concrete and MET.
Thanks to meticulous planning and seamless coordination by P&T's team, RVCC stands as a model for safer, faster, and more sustainable construction.
