Designing for people, not just cars

At P&T, we believe cities thrive when they’re built around people, not vehicles. Our pedestrian-oriented neighbourhood planning approach emphasizes accessibility, connectivity, and quality of life. When you design for walkability, you don’t just create streets, you create vibrant, resilient communities.
Olympian City in Hong Kong exemplifies this philosophy. Linked directly to the Olympic MTR Station, the entire development was envisioned as a “city within a city”, where residential towers, retail hubs, and cultural destinations are all within a 5-minute walk. This masterplan ensures that residents, office workers, and visitors can move fluidly through a network of all-weather pedestrian bridges, public plazas, and green corridors, connecting the old urban fabric of Tai Kok Tsui with new, reclaimed land.
Rather than relying on private cars, our design strategy prioritizes public transportation by placing transit interchanges within 500 meters of all major zones, residential, retail, commercial, and cultural. This not only encourages the use of public transport but reduces traffic congestion, lowers carbon emissions, and fosters more inclusive, accessible communities.
Inspired by the principles of the “15-minute city,” our projects, such as Island Harbourview, Imperial Cullinan, HSBC Centre, and Bank of China Tower, bring daily essentials within walking distance: workspaces, homes, parks, shopping, schools, and healthcare. We ensure that public spaces aren’t just transitional zones, but destinations that support wellness, social connection, and economic vitality.
Olympian City’s evolution over 12 years is a model of transit-oriented development that bridges time, land, and people. With each phase; from the early integration of Island Harbourview to the luxurious waterfront living of Imperial Cullinan, we’ve continued to place pedestrians at the center of urban life.In a world increasingly shaped by climate urgency, affordability challenges, and shifting lifestyles, walkable neighbourhoods are no longer just ideal, they’re essential.
P&T is proud to lead the way in building cities that are sustainable, connected, and built for life on foot.
