Bridging the gap between Academia and Practice | P&T group and Ajman University

Students, Educators, Architects and Developers

At P&T Group, we believe in actively shaping the future of architecture by engaging with and mentoring the next generation of design professionals. This commitment was recently demonstrated through a powerful academic-industry collaboration with Ajman University architectural department, led by our Design Director – Dubai Studio, Mahmoud Shahin, and Senior Associate, Levi Da Costa.

Over the course of a full semester, Mahmoud and Levi worked closely with third-year architecture students, well beyond the traditional midterm or final critique. Through weekly hands-on guidance, students were immersed in the complexities of a real-world commercial design brief, experiencing firsthand what it means to take a concept from vision to viable solution.

To elevate the experience even further, a real client interaction had taken place as P&T invited key figures to participate in the final jury. We extend our sincere thanks to @Hani Qamhawi and @Mark Farmer for their time, insights, and valuable feedback. Their involvement added a critical layer of realism and professional context, offering students a unique opportunity to respond to actual market expectations.

This initiative exemplifies our philosophy at P&T: that true architectural education thrives when industry and academia work together. We are proud to play a role in empowering young talent and helping to bridge the gap between the classroom and the profession.

Congratulations to the outstanding students:
@Amna Almatrooshi, @Aysha Alsuwaidi, @Hajir Ibrahim, @Hana ALDWI, @Julia Sidawi, @Lana Abosharkh, @Malak Alabboud, @Meera Alfalasi, @Reem Alqemzi, @Sarah Alamer, @Yara Albaiti, and @Yumna Alhayek

Your dedication, creativity, and growth were truly inspiring.

Our deepest appreciation to the faculty of architecture at Ajman University, especially @Nashwa Shiqwarah, @Noor Al Yafei, and @Iyad Jumaa, @ Riad Saraiji for embracing this collaborative approach and creating a space where students could thrive.

A special thanks to our P&T team members who supported this initiative during the final jury: @Drue Newcomb, @Moemen AbdElkader, @Zoha Hosseini, and @Jamal Hamsho.

Here’s to more meaningful collaborations that connect practice with education and shape the architects of tomorrow.
