St. Paul’s Hospital was founded by the Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres in 1898. We recently celebrate the completion of its redevelopment from a 358-bed facility into a state-of-the-art medical hub with 550 inpatient beds, various outpatient services and advanced clinical facilities. The 19-years redevelopment was completed in 3 phases to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations during construction. Two new high-rise blocks beautifully frame the historic King of Christ Chapel and restore its prominence in the campus, flanging the new Chapel Garden. Basements built in each of the phases are ultimately stitched to connect all hospital blocks seamlessly.
The redevelopment masterplan harmonizes the demands of a modern healthcare environment with heritage preservation with the once-hidden Chapel revealed to the public as a civic landmark. Believers and visitors can now fully appreciate its spiritual and historical significance, making the Chapel Garden a cherished space not only for the hospital, the schools and Catholic community in the campus but also the wider public.
