Description
The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) is situated along Shing Mun River and next to the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Shatin Racecourse. P&T collaborated with the client and other project team members to design the redevelopment of the HKSI as the largest and greenest urban sport community in Hong Kong. The site occupies 116,630 sqm site area. The redevelopment includes a new 9-storey multi-purpose building situated at the site of the existing cycling and running trail, a new mulit-purpose sports hall with bowling centre, wushu and squash courts, a new 2-storey boathouse rowing, a new 52m indoor swimming pool and two new covered tennis courts, a new covered walkway and upgrade to the existing indoor sports complex and indoor swimming pool. The long-term goal is to provide a vibrant sport community and environment for talented athletes with an opportunity to achieve at the highest level in sport and advancement in sports education.
