Description
Located on an island site in the business district of Banda Kurla between downtown Mumbai and the international airport, the Mumbai Trident is a first-class 500-room business hotel for the Oberoi Group. Conceived as a stylistic adaptation of traditional Indian fortresses, the symmetrical Y-shaped layout of the hotel comprises three 8-storey cylindrical drums connected by two rectilinear arms. From the 3-storey main entrance in the middle drum, standard hotel guest bedrooms line double-loaded corridors with superior fan-shaped rooms arranged around circular atriums in the outer drums. Lift lobbies offer views over the huge pool deck surrounded by a tropical garden with waterfalls and ponds flanked by a health club, massage rooms and several guestrooms with private courtyards. A large ballroom, together with conference facilities and restaurants, and an adjoining municipal car park facility complete the development.
