Description
Located in the historic centre of Suzhou, the hotel was designed to complement adjoining historic monuments, such as the 1,800 year old ruins of the Suzhou City Wall and the 247 A.D. “Puiguang Ta” Pagoda. Guestrooms are provided along an artificial canal and several courtyards, which are landscaped in the traditional manner. All public and back-of-house facilities are located in a reinterpretated city wall structure, accessed via ramps and topped with Suzhou Chinese style pavilions which house the main lobby, restaurants and executive accommodation. Finished in local materials, local granite, and roof tiles, the hotel provides a culturally appropriate addition to the historic setting.
