Description
Located in prime Bangkok's Central Business District (CBD) and in close proximity to BTS Ratchadamri skytrain station and Lumpini Park, Soonthareeya Ratchadamri is designed to capitalize a new landmark in the city. The development comprises one to four bedroom luxurious residences and rises above ground to a height of 57 storeys. Urban parameters, site constraints and program requirements generate this building's monumental profile with visibility from distances.
The Soonthareeya Ratchadamri is a unique case in terms of its striking geometric form and architectural expression of the structure with large diagonals and vertical and horizontal components on the perimeter.
The building is over 284 metre tall and the height-to-width aspect ratio of the tower portion is about 18, setting new parameters for sky-high living. Hybrid structure-skin system by the natural form of exoskeleton is proposed in order to maximize the structural efficiency of the system and to give freedom in planning and disposition of floor areas, unconstrained by massive load-bearing walls. On the building façade, the exoskeleton is emphasized as important facade design element and provides an interesting contrast in terms of building sleek form and expressions of varying angle diagrids on the façade.
At the base of the building, 11 modules of automated tower parking system with over 560 parking spaces stretches across the entire floor plate on ground floor with a carving out double volume space to create a dramatic entrance and drop-off experience. This leads to ground lobbies on two separate wings with vertical access to the sky lobby, recreation amenities, residential floors and roof top landscaped garden.
The charcoal grey façade and the silver-grey exoskeleton are mainly cladded in high-performance glass and aluminum panels while solid horizontal aluminum bands decorated with trims are applied to tower and podium to unify the exterior wall appearance.
