Description
Clementi NorthArc is located along the banks of Sungei Ulu Pandan with nearly 1,200 Dwelling Units (consisting of 3Room, 4Room, 5Room and 3Gen flats) spread across 6 residential blocks that vary in height from 12 to 40 Storeys. The project was designed on the key principle of cohesively integrating the existing blocks surrounding the site in the neighbourhood by both a meeting and connection point to the Sungei Ulu Pandan and its Park Connector. Residents from across the street along Clementi
Avenue 6 as well as residents of the adjacent plots are all connected to NorthArc’s precinct spaces and further on to the riverfront and its park Connector. Architecturally, the blocks’ clean lines are expressed to highlight both their elegant verticality and their streamlined horizontality. The result is a building massing that combines both the tall and slender proportions of the newer point blocks of the surrounding areas with the slab-like proportions of the older generation blocks of the neighbourhood
Having been part of its site used as part of the old KTM railway, steel members of the old railway tracks were recovered and were re-purposed as part of trellises and other precinct structures that dot the site – reminding and educating residents of the history and heritage of the site they now call home.
